Who writes this

2M Jeux is an independent enthusiast blog about games that ran in a browser tab.

The subject has three parts that turn out to be one story. There was a runtime — Flash — that carried browser games for about fifteen years and was then withdrawn on a date. There is what replaced it: canvas, WebGL and WebAssembly, native to the browser, faster and much harder to keep a copy of. And there is the money, which changed at the same time and for reasons that had nothing to do with either: the free-to-play model arrived from Korea, the subscription gave way to the pass, and paid random draws attracted the attention of several regulators.

The pieces here describe games as designed objects with a history. There are no scores, no rankings and no recommendations, and nothing on the site links to a place to play, download or buy anything. Where a mechanism is described — an item shop, a battle pass, a published probability table — it is described as documented design and, where it applies, documented law.

How it is put together

Four sections, thirteen pieces, and one page that lists all of them. Material the writing could not carry in prose — a chronology, a set of definitions, a comparison — is lifted out of the flow and set as its own thing, which is why the reading pages break their own text every few screens.

Photography is real and credited where a credit exists. The drawn marks — the window that stands for each section, the corner marks on the figures — are made for this site and not borrowed from an icon set.
